Bible study and prayer groups

Bible Study

We have several Bible study groups and they aim to help people in the journey of faith.  Some meet in church, some in people’s homes.  You would be very welcome to join one

An opportunity to join the Pilgrim Course

The Pilgrim Course is running successfully in churches throughout Europe, including St Mary’s, Weston Turville.  It uses short readings, video and sound clips and discussion in small groups to explore the Christian faith.  There are two groups currently running.  Each session lasts an hour and a half.

The course starts at the very beginning

Pilgrim assumes very little understanding or knowledge of the Christian faith.

  It focuses on Jesus Christ

Pilgrim aims to equip people to follow Jesus Christ as disciples in the whole of their lives.

  It flows from the Scriptures

The primary focus of each session is a group of people engaging with the Bible together.

It draws deeply from the Christian tradition

In the Early Church, the Christian faith was taught by the transmission of key texts that summed up the heart of the    Christian message. Pilgrim restores this approach for the twenty-first century.

‘Holy Painting’

‘Holy Painting’usually takes place on the Third Thursday of each month at 10.30.m. in the church. We join together to have fun painting and exploring Bible stories at the same time.

Revd Susan says ‘I bring all the paper, paints and brushes at the moment but feel free to bring your own if you wish or borrow your children’s paints!  I also provide crayons and coloured pencils in case anyone would prefer to use those. I tell a Bible story and then we all paint!  We have tea, coffee and biscuits and have a nice chat. We will finish by noon but you can come and go when it suits you. This is definitely for fun – I cannot teach you!’

Check with Revd Susan to make sure that the group is meeting before turning up.
