We support God’s work through the church by giving of our time, using our skills, and giving our money. St Mary’s depends on our giving to cover all its running costs and also pays a substantial amount to the Diocese of Oxford. The Diocese uses this to pay for clergy stipends and pensions, diocesan staff, training and development, clergy accommodation, church schools and to meet other diocesan expenditure.
Planned giving is a way of giving regularly to help fund the work of our parish. It aims to help you give generously within your means, and makes it easier for the parish to fund God’s work. It also helps the Parochial Church Council to budget for the year ahead. This gives us a financial foundation for the ministry and mission of our parish. Planned giving or giving through our yellow envelope scheme also enable us to claim Gift Aid, which adds another 25% in reclaimed tax.
The church supports ten charities each year through special offerings on the 4th Sunday in the month. Details of the charities we support can be found in the pages on Caring.
An easy way to raise funds for St Mary's is to insure your property through Ecclesiatical Insurance Company. To find out more please click this link to a message from Roger Fellows, one of our Churchwardens.
If you would like to make a donation or a bequest or leave a legacy to us in your will we can help you arrange it.
